Amber Howarth, DVM

Amber Howarth, DVM

Dr. Amber Howarth was born and raised in Arizona. Her passion for animals began at a very young age when she “doctored” the family pets and eagerly asked her family veterinarian lots of questions. Her desire to become a veterinarian led her to Arizona State University where she received a bachelor’s degree with honors in Biological Sciences and a minor in Business. Dr. Howarth then moved to Pullman, Washington and obtained her doctorate at Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2020.

While earning her undergraduate degree, Dr. Howarth founded a program called “Wandering PAWS”, which strengthened the idea of the human-animal bond. She partnered with Arizona State University, the Arizona Humane Society, and Central Arizona Shelter Services in Phoenix to help homeless people obtain healthcare for themselves and their animals. It was during this time that Dr. Howarth was able to see first-hand how she can positively affect the quality of life for animals and their owners.

Dr. Howarth’s interests include soft tissue surgery, reproduction, anesthesia, pain management, and business. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Outside of work, Dr. Howarth enjoys traveling, hiking, riding horses, kayaking, and trying new adventures. Her most recent interest is photographing nature, which of course includes animals of all types.
