Surgery & Anesthesia

Our surgical suite and skilled staff are equipped to perform many types of procedures—but patient safety and comfort are always our priority.

Our veterinary team will walk you through the entire process, giving you the tools to make informed decisions regarding your pet’s treatment options. We understand surgery is a stressful time for any owner, and we’re available every step of the way to answer questions and put your mind at ease.

Surgeries we perform include:

  • Spay and neuter
  • Skin mass removals
  • Ear hematoma repair
  • Cherry eye repair, eyelid mass removals
  • Abdominal surgery: cystotomies, splenectomies, foreign body removals, intestinal resection/anastomosis, mass removals

Anesthetic Safety

All of our surgical patients receive pre-anesthetic bloodwork (to assess organ function and cell counts), an IV catheter, IV fluids during the procedure, patient warming, and close patient monitoring including ECG, blood pressure, temperature, pulse oximetry, and heart and respiratory rates throughout the procedure.

An individual anesthetic plan is formulated for each patient based on age, breed, any medical conditions of the pet, temperament of the pet, and the procedure being performed.

After the procedure, your pet recovers in a heated kennel and is monitored by our skilled staff until they are ready to go home. Pre- and post-operative pain management is provided in accordance with the type of procedure performed.

If you are considering veterinary surgery for your pet or have any concerns about anesthesia, please feel free to contact us.
